NEVER POINT YOUR SCOPE DIRECTLY TO THE SUN WITHOUT AN APPROPRIATE SOLAR FILTER SAFELY ATTACHED.

While a GoTo slew is in progress, it is always best to keep an eye on things to insure there
are no cable wraps and that the telescope does not make contact with the mount.

1. Outline
PocketNSOL, hereafter referred to as PNSOL, is software for the Pocket PC which imports
Observer List files exported from NexStar Observer List, hereafter referred to as
NSOL. PNSOL currently supports the NexStar GT (hand controls made after Dec 2001),
NexStar 5i/8i, NexStar GPS, Advanced Series with GoTo and Celestron CGE telescopes.
PNSOL will slew to a selected object in the NSOL Observer List allowing you to
easily work through the list without the added complications of a laptop computer.
This function requires a free RS232C port on the PocketPC most commonly provided by a
serial CF card. PNSOL does not currently support telescopes other than those listed.

PNSOL is supplied as-is and free of charge however with no guarantee or liability
whatsoever is assumed. Use at your own risk.

The author of this program assumes that the user is well familiar with the use of
PocketPCs and general computer control of your Celestron/NexStar telescope. For more
information regarding computer control of your telescope, visit

www.NexStarSite.com/PCControl.htm.

2. How to Install
The easiest method of installation is to copy the *.cab file for your CPU
type to any location in your PocketPC and tap on it to trigger installation and
self-erasure of the *.cab file. This will install the application in main memory.

The "official" installation procedure is to open setup.exe and follow the steps as explained
in setup. This gives you the option to install on storage cards, but please install PNSOL
in main memory since you may need a free CF card slot for a serial RS232C card.

While installing the program on the Pocket PC, you may be asked whether you want to
replace an existing hidden, read-only, or system file. If your PPC O/S is Pocket
PC 2003 then [NO] is the correct answer, provided you have installed the Visual Basic
runtimes for PPC 2003 which are available for download at
http://www.nexstarsite.com/PNSOL.htm.
For Win CE 3.0 and Pocket PC 2002 try [NO] first and if that fails, repeat the
installation and select [YES to All].

You can uninstall using Setting/System/Removal as usual. After uninstallation, other
embeddedVB applications will no longer run because OCXs/DLLs shared with other VB apps
will be deregistered without warning, even though they remain in the Windows directory.
There are three principle ways of fixing this:
1. A reinstallation of the application(s) concerned (awkward).
2. A visit to http://www.cegadgets.com/regsvr2.htm where you will find a free GUI
based tool to register OCXs and DLLs (takes some time to register the runtime
   files one by one).
3. Re-install the Pocket PC 2002 or Pocket PC 2003 VB runtimes (probably the fastest
   workaround) available at
   http://www.nexstarsite.com/PNSOL.htm
If you have a storage card it is recommended to always carry the above mentioned
Pocket PC 2002/2003 runtime installer CAB file with you. You never can tell.
